Application recommendations
Recommended dosage
| Area of application | Recommended dosage | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Detergent | 0.1-2% | Enhanced detergency, water softening |
| Cosmetics / Personal Care | 0.05-0.5% | Maintain product stability, prevent color change |
| Textile printing and dyeing | 0.5-2% | Chelation of metal ions to enhance coloring quality |
| Industrial cleaning | 0.5-5% | Adjustment according to cleaning requirements and formulation |
Dissolution Method
- Slowly add EDTA-4Na powder to water with constant stirring
- To accelerate dissolution, it is recommended to use warm water (40-50°C).
- When dissolved, the solution becomes alkaline, which is normal.
- Can be used together with other alkaline substances
- The specific dosage should be adjusted according to formulation requirements, specific application, and local regulations.
- Avoid direct mixing with strongly acidic substances to prevent reduction of chelating effect.
- Store in a dry place, avoid moisture and caking

Frequently asked questions
Main Differences Among Four Specifications:
- ContentHousehold grade: ≥99.50% max; industrial grade: ≥99.00%; spray grade: ≥99.30%; tetrasodium salt dihydrate: ≥107.00% calculated on anhydrous basis.
- NTA contentHousehold grade is the strictest (≤0.1%), suitable for personal care products; spray grade is more lenient (≤3.0%), suitable for spray drying processes.
- Bulk densitySpraying requires special treatment (600-800 g/L), good flowability
- Selection recommendationsFor cosmetics and personal care products, select household grade; for industrial cleaning, select industrial grade; for spray drying formulations, select spray grade.
Key differences between EDTA-2Na (disodium salt) and EDTA-4Na (tetrasodium salt):
- Chemical FormEDTA-2Na is the disodium salt of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, EDTA-4Na is the tetrasodium salt.
- pH valueAqueous EDTA-2Na solution is slightly acidic (pH 4.0-5.0), while aqueous EDTA-4Na solution is alkaline (pH 10.5-11.5).
- SolubilityEDTA-4Na has higher water solubility and dissolves more easily.
- Application selectionChoose the salt form according to the pH requirements of the formulation and the specific application. Alkaline formulations are more suitable for EDTA-4Na.
Shelf Life of the Product Is24 monthsDuring storage, avoid direct sunlight and humid environment.
